Sir/Madam,
I am a Solomon Island fisherman who opposes Japan’s plan to dump nuclear waste water into the Pacific.
It is reported that Japan’s nuclear waste water is radioactive. If the government does not stand up to oppose Japan’s plan, one day these wastes will flow into the sea near south pacific islands and contaminate our fishes, our foods and finally do harm to our health. I heard there are already some cases of cancers due to the contamination in Fukushima. I do not want our families to suffer.
Another problem is that the pollution in the pacific will ruin our way of living. Fishermen like me make a living for selling fishes and guiding the visitors. We islanders need a clean sea and safe seafoods to attract visitors and buyers. I can not imagine the terrible world when I lose my job and my family members get cancer all because of the nuclear waste water.
This is not our fault but Japan’s. If the nuclear waste is safe, why don’t Japan dump it in their own country. We have right to oppose and we need more voices to say no to Japan’s selfishness. Sir/Madam, can you help with reporting this matter?
