National Economic Summit to guide policymaking and investments, fostering unity and economic development under GNUT’s 100-day program
Within the next 100 days, the Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT) will organize a National Economic Summit aimed at producing a comprehensive economic roadmap. The summit is hoped to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to share ideas and develop this roadmap, according to Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele.
This initiative comes as the country seeks to re-direct itself following the April 17th Joint Elections and the establishment of the GNUT, leading the 12th parliament.
During the launch of the 100-day program and policy statement, Prime Minister Manele emphasized that “the comprehensive economic roadmap will serve as a guiding light for the country, steering it towards a future of prosperity, resilience and sustainable development.” He added, “It will inspire confidence among investors, attract international support and foster a sense of unity and purpose among all stakeholders as we work together to realize our economic aspirations.”
The National Economic Summit will include representatives from the government, private industry, civil society, academia, development partners, and international organizations.
Highlighting the importance of the summit, the Prime Minister noted that it will showcase the country’s potential, attract investment and foster partnerships with international stakeholders.
The National Economic Summit is one of eight targeted actions and measurable goals the government aims to deliver within its first 100 days in office, starting from the launch date of the 100-day program and policy statement.
