Study Shows Brazilians Spend More Time Streaming TV Than Any Other Country
Brazil leads the world in internet addiction, according to a new study by ZeroBounce, with the country’s residents spending more time online than any other nation. Brazilians average 13:03 hours per week streaming TV shows—the highest globally—along with 11:19 hours on social media and 5:28 hours dedicated to e-learning, both among the top rankings worldwide.
The study, which analyzed internet usage patterns across several countries, placed Hong Kong second, with its residents dominating video calling at 5:27 hours per week and leading online shopping with 5:23 hours. Mexico secured third place, with the highest social media usage globally at 12:29 hours per week and the second-highest time spent streaming TV shows at 12:33 hours.
Other notable rankings include Australia, which takes fourth place with a mix of 9:14 hours on social media and 6:29 hours streaming TV shows, and Taiwan, which ranks fifth, marked by 6:34 hours per week spent on TV streaming and significant engagement in online shopping.
South Korea, in sixth place, distinguishes itself with 7:38 hours per week spent streaming TV shows, while Italy, in seventh, reflects a balanced digital lifestyle with a strong presence on both social media and video streaming. Canada, Portugal, and the Netherlands round out the top ten with significant time spent on social media, streaming, and administrative tasks like online banking.
The study highlights global trends in internet usage, providing insights into the growing dependence on digital content, social media, and e-commerce across different regions.
