Randy dislikes doing laundry. In Solomon Islands, most people do not have the luxury of owning a washing machine and still do laundry by hand. For the money, Randy is willing to do the job. He started his laundry business with a couple of washing machines and four (4) helpers.
By profession, Randy is a teacher. On the side, the laundry business, Dyenta to which he is co-founder, provides employment for youths who come in as helpers. At the laundromat, clients can leave their clothes for washing and drying and collect them once the clothes are done.
He said the service they provide in doing laundry for other people is not one which he see in Honiara, thus he believes there is a niche market for this. Randy say he envisioned the business expanding soon as they receive more clients for their laundry services.
Dyenta laundry services is based in Koloale.
