Placement Results for 2024 Approved
The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD) is set to reveal the Year 7 Placement for 2024 tomorrow, 19 December 2023, through the Ministry’s official website. Dr. Franco Rodie, the Permanent Secretary, officially announced the Solomon Islands Year 7 Placement today, Monday, 18 December 2023. He stated, “I declare the following Solomon Islands Year 7 Placement results enclosed herewith are accurate of the students’ achievements. “I now grant permission for their release of the Year 7 Placement results to the Education Authority (Education Provider to be), schools and the public”.
The placement of Year 6 students for the transition to Year 7 in 2024 was said to be successfully conducted in accordance with the Solomon Islands Secondary Entrance Examination (SISEE) Phase Out Placement Guideline 2019. This year’s Year 7 Placement process involves 12,365 students, with 6,403 being females and 5,962 males from 731 primary schools nationwide. These students have been allocated placements based on their preferences and clusters in the 355 secondary schools, including Community High Schools, Stand-alone Secondary Schools, Provincial Secondary Schools, and National Secondary Schools.
For primary schools that have not submitted their 2023 Class Application and Ranking Forms for Placement, students will be placed in their cluster Community High Schools. Parents and guardians of the concerned students are advised to contact their respective Education Authorities for confirmation of their children’s Year 7 Placement.
