Solomon Islands ranks 14th globally to welcome 2025. RSIPF emphasizes safe celebrations as the country prepares for another significant year ahead.
The Solomon Islands will be among the first to celebrate the arrival of 2025, ranking 14th globally based on its position in the UTC+11 time zone. The country will join other countries in this time zone, such as Vanuatu, New Caledonia, and Bouganville, in marking the New Year ahead of many others around the world.
In the UTC+14 time zone, Kiribati’s Line Islands and Samoa will be the first to usher in 2025, leading the global countdown. These regions are followed by countries in UTC+13 and UTC+12, with the Solomon Islands and other UTC+11 areas next in line.
Ahead of the celebrations, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has called for peaceful and lawful behavior throughout the New Year’s Eve festivities. Operation Commander and Assistant Commissioner (AC) for National Capital and Crime Prevention, Mr. Simpson Pogeava, emphasized the importance of safety and mutual respect.
Looking ahead, 2025 will be a significant year for the Solomon Islands, with several key regional events scheduled, including the Pacific Islands Forum Summit and the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant.
