Soltuna Ltd donates six cartons of tuna as prizes for the Advanced Technologies Ltd High School Basketball Competition
SOLTUNA Ltd has donated six cartons of tuna to support the ‘Advanced Technologies Ltd High School Basketball Competition (HSBC24)’ currently underway in Honiara. The donated cartons of tuna will be used as prizes for the winning teams of the competition.
During the handover, Marketing Manager Kenwood Harry expressed Soltuna’s satisfaction in supporting HSBC24. “As part of our corporate social responsibility, we are proud to contribute to nation-building through sports development in the country, including basketball and other sports,” Harry stated.
He emphasized that Soltuna Ltd is committed to supporting young athletes who may represent Solomon Islands basketball in the future.
Chairman of the Advanced Technologies Ltd HSBC24, Jefferson Patovaki, expressed gratitude to Soltuna on behalf of the Solomon Islands Basketball Federation (SIBF). “It is encouraging to see local companies supporting our young men and women in basketball. I sincerely thank Soltuna for these cartons of tuna that will be used as prizes for our winning teams,” he said.
Patovaki also mentioned his hopes for future partnerships with Soltuna Ltd to further develop basketball through similar competitions.
The Advanced Technologies Ltd HSBC24 is now in its fifth week of pool games, heading into the playoffs. A total of 12 schools are participating in the competition, involving around 200 young athletes. The games are held at the multi-purpose hall indoor court three days a week (Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays).
