Unified effort by tourism organizations and local operators to support Miss Tourism’s campaign, promoting national pride and tourism
Kerrie Faradatolo, a 25-year-old from Malaita Province (North Malaita and Langa Langa), is advocating for tourism, law and education as part of her campaign for Miss Solomon Islands. Kerrie holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of the South Pacific and is currently employed as a Senior Legislative Drafting Counsel for the Attorney General’s Chambers Office in Honiara.
The sponsors for Miss Tourism include Tourism Solomons, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, The Heritage Park Hotel and Travel Solomons Ltd. Support has also come from local operators in the provinces, including Qua Roviana from Munda and AuthenticMala Tours from Malaita.
Miss Tourism’s first visit was to Hotomai Cultural Village in Central Guadalcanal. Kerrie joined the tour group Adventures Abroad Worldwide for a half-day cultural village tour experience.
Adventures Abroad Group 2 is accommodated for a week at Heritage Park Hotel and has explored the sites of Guadalcanal, Honiara and the Florida Islands with Travel Solomons Ltd., two of the supporting sponsors of Miss Tourism 2024.
The raw and exotic culture of the Solomon Islands offers an exciting experience for international guests. The Bira tribe of Hotomai Village graciously hosted Miss Tourism and the Adventures Abroad Tour Group during the visit.
Kerrie joins 10 other contestants for the Miss Solomon Islands pageant, scheduled to be held in August in Honiara. The winning candidate will represent the Solomon Islands at the Miss Pacific pageant, which is set to take place in Honiara in February 2025.
